Who am I?

Who am I? Hello. I’m Karina. The founder and owner behind CKN Adore. I am a mom of two  boys, and a doodle mom. I was born in a small town called Coeneo. It is a small town outside of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. I came to the United States when I was only a baby. I grew up in Chicago, Illinois then made my way to live in Florida for most of my adult life. 

Why did I start making natural soaps and candles? I built my dream home in Cape Coral, Florida. Within 6 months of living in my home, I found out my house was built with toxic drywall. Here is the house. Sidenote: I did not plant those trees.

I was pregnant with my oldest son. Many homeowners who used the same builder were suddenly getting sick. Some were diagnosed with lupus, thyroid cancer, and other conditions. I decided to let the house go. This was during the housing recession in 2008. So, I moved back home to the Midwest. I decided to go back to school and obtain my law degree. My last year in law school I was diagnosed with a brain tumor-Schwannoma tumor. This tumor was more common among Senior Citizens. I was told that I would lose my hearing, and the left side of my face would droop down. My doctor didn’t know why someone my age (early 30’s) would get this kind of tumor. I think I know… toxic drywall!! Three days before Christmas in 2012 I went through CyberKnife radiation. Cyberknife is a radiation therapy device that uses a robotic arm to deliver high doses of radiation to treat tumors. It’s on of the most advanced forms of radiosurgery.  I needed to change what I ate, what I used on body, and what I used in my household.

Changes I made. Since that day I made drastic changes. I changed my nutrition to plant based food 🌱, organic cleaners, plant-based beauty products, make my sourdough bread, etc. Any change that I could make I did it. I wholeheartedly believe that because I made these changes and stayed positive I didn't lose my hearing and my face did not droop. I only lost 10% of my hearing. My face after 10 yrs. has been fine but most recently I have avoided the camera like the plague because my left eye has been drooping. I am grateful that I can still hear and able to live the life that I am living. I want to bring love 🫶🏽 and positive energy 🙌with my soaps and candles into your sanctuary.

Moving forward. I am always telling my boys that the sky is the limit. Any dream is possible. Well, they used my advice on me. It’s time to listen to my advice. I introduce CKN Adore. I will dedicate myself to providing the highest quality of pure and natural ingredients🌿 

My blog is about bringing positive energy and information to my readers. I wanted to create this blog to share my journey into entrepreneurship and the evolution of C.K.N Adore. I will share a post twice a month on things such as "How to switch to plant-based food?" or "my top 5 essential oils."
